Sound conditioning of a living room

The P. family used our material to improve the acoustics in their living room. Here’s what they told us about the project:

After moving into our new house with its modern interior design, we realized that the atmosphere in our living room was rather sober and uninviting. The soniflex team helped us find the reason for this lack of comfort: As modern interior design does without carpets and curtains, noise is not absorbed. The reverberation time in our living room was too high! We just had to compensate for the lack of sound-absorbing carpets and curtains by installing soni PROTECT absorber panels on the ceiling.The result: The installation of soni PROTECT noise reduction panels lowered the reverberation time considerably. The atmosphere in our living room is now much friendlier and more inviting.

Improved room acoustics in a living room

After using our material to improve the room acoustics in his living room, Monsieur P. from the Seine-et-Marne Département in France told us:

Our living room is equipped with sound-hard flooring and only a few pieces of furniture and hardly any textiles such as curtains. The resulting high degree of reverberation made it very uncomfortable and noisy, especially when several people were present. Now that we have installed 30-mm thick soni PROTECT F sound absorber panels, the noise level is much reduced and the atmosphere is much more inviting. Using soniflex special adhesive fixing the panels was really easy. The beveled edges of the soni PROTECT F panels allow very neat joints and even help conceal uneven patches in the ceiling surface.

Our living room is quite often used as a party room, too. To reduce the noise level and improve the room’s acoustic characteristics, we lined the ceiling with soni PROTECT F sound protection panels.

To make our living room more comfortable and to be able to fully enjoy our Dolby Digital Surround Sound system I have applied soni PROTECT F acoustic panels, 30mm, light grey, to the ceiling.

• • As we are living in a rented flat and I will possibly have to remove the acoustic sheets one day, I used double-sided adhesive tape to install the acoustic sheets on thick cardboard panels and then covered them with decorative textiles.
• • Now the acoustic characteristics of my living room are excellent, the sound of voices is very pleasant.
• • And we enjoy a life-like “cinema feeling” with real Dolby Digital Surround Sound - without booming bass noises or any unbalanced resonances.
